Downer horse

An interesting video showing how a horse was urged to get up after being down for an extended time.  Important to note that if a horse has been down for an extended time they must be flipped over if there is any chance of getting them up.  Be very careful if you try this and be sure to have enough help.  The web site is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLWaCv6LOfQ

    Thank you for the info - I've seen this done - why is it so important? I'm assuming that I'm not going to try this and just call the office if I think my horse is actually injured. Sue H

    It is important to turn the horse over because the pressure on the down side muscles impairs their function significantly much as your leg muscles might after sitting a crosslegged position.
